eSIM on Google Pixel: Supported Models, Setup and Transfer (2026)

Google's Pixel line has supported eSIM longer than almost any Android phone — since the Pixel 3 in 2018 — and Pixels handle eSIM transfer better than most.

Short answer: Pixel 3 and newer support eSIM, including the a-series and Pro models. The exception is the original Pixel 3 sold in a few Asian and Australian markets, which shipped without it. Check with *#06# — an EID means you are good.

Which Pixels support eSIM?

• Pixel 3, 3 XL, 3a, 3a XL and everything since
• Pixel 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 series including a and Pro variants
• Exception: some Pixel 3 units sold in Australia, Japan, Taiwan and India lacked eSIM

How to install an eSIM on a Pixel

1. Connect to Wi-Fi.
2. Settings → Network & internet → SIMs (on some versions: Mobile network).
3. Tap + Add SIM, then Download a SIM instead?
4. Tap Next and scan the QR code from your provider email.
5. Follow the prompts and name it "Travel".
6. On landing: set the eSIM as your mobile data SIM and turn Roaming on for it.

Pixel's eSIM transfer advantage

Recent Pixels support eSIM transfer during device setup, so moving your carrier line to a new Pixel is usually a couple of taps. A travel eSIM is different: many QR codes are single-use, so re-install it from your provider account instead. See moving an eSIM to a new phone.
