Can You Use One eSIM on Two Phones? The Straight Answer

Short answer: no. An eSIM profile can only be active on one device at a time, and most travel-eSIM QR codes are single-use — once installed on one phone, the same code will not install on another. To connect a second phone: buy a second plan, or share via hotspot.
Why one eSIM cannot serve two phones
An eSIM profile is cryptographically bound to a device's secure element during installation. The network authenticates one subscriber identity on one device. This is not a policy choice a provider could relax — it is how the GSMA remote-provisioning standard works, and it is identical to a physical SIM: one card, one phone.
What happens if you try
- Scanning the same QR on a second phone: normally fails with "unable to add cellular plan" or "code already used".
